The forces against us all…

Last night I was in a fit of thought and realized some things about the concept of struggle and the effect it has on people.  I wrote about how the idea of, “what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger”, is false and it should read, “what doesn’t kill us, just pisses us off.”  As much as I want to take my personal bias out of my writings, I can not help but believe this to be true.  Struggle does not make anyone stronger, educating others and enlightening others is what makes us stronger.  Struggle, adversity, negativity just callouses our senses of empathy and makes us put out the very evil we despise.  I thought to myself that everywhere we look, we see excuses for wretched behavior.  The drug addicts blaming the struggles between family and finances.  The violent abusers who use their mothers and fathers as scapegoats.  The rapist and the murderers that blame the images of violence and sex that were force fed to them like all the rest of us.

Maybe it is inevitable that adversity yields bitterness and contempt.  Maybe we can not stop those people from the hateful, perverted views of the world.  The point of me writing what I had intended to post on here was to simply disclaim a common quote.  I just wanted to voice my disagreement with the common notion that struggle produces better people is BULLSHIT. We have doomed ourselves from day one.  We have made it okay for struggle to be the scapegoat of all.  Struggle needs to educate and teach before struggle can destroy.  Too often we let struggle destroy people to rock bottom before we choose to learn from struggle.  Struggle should have unified us from the start…but instead it is the force dividing us all.

Youth: Public Enemy Number One…Part 2

I ended the first part of this subject with a question: What effects has the progression of treachery taught the youth of today?

I took a day to observe everything around me.  I found so many connections between a mentality of “capitalist aggression” and the emotional disconnect we have when it comes to having empathy towards other people. You can see the abstract competition everywhere.  Who has the biggest house, the most cars, the most expensive watch?  While materialistic pissing matches like this can be fun, it explains the ever increasing lack of good will and disconnection between people.  We, meaning the youth, have been brought up to be stimulated and almost aroused at the concept of accumulating wealth and all the things that go along with it.  As complex as our minds are, it seems that some are not able to maintain a healthy balance between material wealth and the intangible family values.  Personally, as much as my opinion can matter to anyone, I find it difficult to even keep empathy in the back of my mind when I am plagued by the burning desire to do anything and everything to possess wealth.  I hope that I am not alone in feeling that way.  It is apparent that there is more of an animosity in the younger generation.  Whether it be the American greed that is cultivated inside of us that makes us not care for the well being of our peers or some other subliminal force, we are going downhill.

Growing up into the world today means being inundated with images of death, sheer terror, crime, rape, and American citizens committing ponzi schemes on none other than…fellow Americans. How can you build values when this is what our subconscious absorbs on a daily basis?  How can we learn what is truly right and wrong with these examples to lead us?  As much as the public thinks education is the answer to making a more empathetic and generous future, it is not.  Inevitably, society is an idea of followers with an unknown leader that influences are every opinion and decision.  This leader, whatever force that may be, leads by doing and we as a people follow what we are exposed to.  My point is that after being exposed to the modern truths of human nature and the level of carnal terror we are capable of, the youth is at a terrible disadvantage.  Almost like a child coming out of an abusive home of alcoholism and the like, the chances of falling into those same destructive habits and patterns are high.

Each and everyday will lead us into a brighter tomorrow if we can just see ourselves in others.  We are all in each others’ shoes and we are all battling for the same outcome of death.  We all want a pleasant ride there with all the experiences of wealth and good quality of life.  We all can achieve that too but only if we learn that building others is building ourselves.

Cure for Greed

Cure for Greed

Youth: Public Enemy Number One…Part 1.

If you are a part of today’s youth, you are the target.  Everything is concentrated at you.  All of the slings and arrows of this perverted universe are slung directly at you, the target.  What is expected of us?  We never meant to do any harm, we were pushed to the edge and that is why we took society to the darkest and yet the shallowest depths it has ever seen.  Blanketed with the negativity of war and terror, fed drugs to numb the realities, and taught that suffering is inevitable.  Separated by the social hierarchy that is abstract but also so tangible and apparent at the same time.  This divide has led to an inverse outcome.  The sons and daughters brought up through privilege and opulence are generalized into a category of lazy, subconsciously entitled leeches.  The sons and daughters brought up through the American struggle and not the American dream are seen as the back breaking, disenfranchised savages that will claw their way to the top.  The names of the self made tycoons and blood lines of wealth now contradict the very principles they were built from.  Principles of labor, honesty, and ethical selfishness are gone for newer principles of take everything and leave them with nothing.

What effect has the progression of treachery taught the youth of today?
